The influence the culture is having on the overall culture is too big to put into words. Many things that were originally written off by the mainstream are now being embraced. Over the years, Harvard University has proven to be an unforeseen breeding ground for hip hop. Numerous hip hop figures have visited the campus. In addition, many social platforms made famous by hip hop were born there. Now, there is an actual course being taught on how to play Spades.
Spades is the kind of card game that most would never associate with Harvard. Instead, Spades is more commonly associated with yard parties and other kinds of casual gatherings. Actually, Spades is a form of the game of Bridge. The game is similar to Bridge, with four players participating. Each person is dealt thirteen cards out of a regular fifty-two card deck. Every participant as an allocated amount of tricks they are allowed to use in order to win the game.
People with street smarts know how to play such card games as Spades. Until recently, things like this were not considered important for the general public. However, a shift in interests have turned many things from the culture into case studies. With Spades, a young woman is having the opportunity of a lifetime. Not only does she have Spades being taught as a course at Harvard, but also, she’s the teacher, with the students being fully engaged.
