Lil Wayne had to remove his own music from video on social media
Lil Wayne became one of the biggest rappers in the game, back in 2006. By 2008, he cemented his position, and laid claim to being one of the greatest of all-time. With that, Wayne recorded a lot of music over the years. As many mixtapes went retail, much of Wayne’s mixtape content has also been claimed by his record label. During a recent interview with Tony Hawk, Wayne spoke on his music. He explained that he made a video to post on socials with one of his songs, but got hit with a copyright strike.
Lil Wayne always made entertaining music, but there was a clear divide between guys like him, and the heavy hitters in the game. However, between 2006 and 2008, Wayne proved the divide started and ended with him. Not only was he the highest selling rapper in the game, but also he was considered one of the top lyricists in the game. That wasn’t enough, though, as Wayne wanted to be viewed as one of the greatest of all-time.
Lil Wayne has the reputation as one of the greatest rappers of all-time. Social media is a sticky place, due to people sharing content. Much of it contains music and film content, which is under copyright. As a result, a lot of people innocently lose their accounts, or get restrictions, due to their inadvertent violations of the copyrights. Of all people, this happened to Lil Wayne with his own music. When he spoke to Tony Hawk, he explained how this happened to him, and how it upset him.
