Jhené Aiko Reveals “Westside Whimsy” Tracklist

Jhené Aiko is finally preparing to release her long-awaited new album.

On Tuesday, Aiko revealed the tracklist for Westside Whimsy, confirming that the project will contain 20 songs. The album is set to arrive this Friday, September 11.

The announcement gives fans an even better idea of what to expect from Aiko’s first studio album in more than six years.

The tracklist includes several notable collaborations. Kendrick Lamar appears on “So Good,” while Larry June joins Aiko on “Neighbors.” Ab-Soul is featured on “Love Bomb,” Tyga appears on “Like, Whatever,” and OHMA is featured on “Golden Coast.”

The project will also include 15 solo songs from Aiko.

That gives her plenty of room to showcase her signature R&B sound while also incorporating some of the biggest names connected to the West Coast.

Kendrick Lamar and Larry June Join Jhené Aiko

Kendrick Lamar’s appearance is easily one of the biggest surprises on the tracklist.

Aiko and Kendrick have already worked together in the past. Their previous collaboration, “Stay Ready (What a Life),” appeared on Aiko’s 2013 Sail Out EP.

More than a decade later, the two artists are reconnecting for “So Good.”

Kendrick’s appearance also adds another major Los Angeles connection to an album that appears to embrace Aiko’s West Coast roots.

Larry June is another exciting addition.

The San Francisco rapper appears on “Neighbors.” The collaboration comes shortly after Aiko and June connected on “California Dream,” which appeared on June’s Who Coppin album in July.

That recent collaboration made another Aiko and June record a natural progression.

Their pairing also fits the overall aesthetic of Westside Whimsy. June has built much of his sound around relaxed West Coast production, cruising imagery and California culture. Those themes appear to line up closely with the world Aiko is creating for this new album.

The Full 20-Song Tracklist

Aiko’s new album will feature a lengthy 20-song tracklist.

The project opens with “Wild Cats,” followed by “Ghost” and “Break.” Aiko then brings in Ab-Soul for “Love Bomb” before continuing with “Ceiling (Freestyle)” and “Nothing Nice To Say.”

The first half of the album continues with “He Belongs,” “Like, Whatever” featuring Tyga, “You,” “Don’t Be That Guy” and “Lullaby.”

Larry June then appears on “Neighbors,” followed by “Mine.”

The highly anticipated Kendrick Lamar collaboration, “So Good,” arrives at No. 14.

The final portion of the album includes “Beach Boy,” “Unicorn,” “I Don’t Mind,” “Namiko Aiko,” “A Living Light” and “Golden Coast” featuring OHMA.

With 20 songs, Westside Whimsy will be a substantial release for fans who have been waiting years for Aiko to return with a new studio album.

Aiko First Teased the Album in January

The release of Westside Whimsy has been a long time coming.

Aiko initially teased the album title in January. Since then, fans have been waiting to see when she would officially reveal more information about the project.

That anticipation has continued to build throughout 2026.

The album represents another chapter in Aiko’s career after she spent several years without releasing a traditional studio album.

While she has remained active through collaborations and other musical appearances, fans have not received a new Jhené Aiko studio album since 2020.

Now, that wait is almost over.

‘Westside Whimsy’ Follows ‘Chilombo’

Westside Whimsy will serve as Aiko’s first studio album since Chilombo.

Released in March 2020, Chilombo became one of the biggest albums of Aiko’s career. The project debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

The album also earned three Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year. It featured appearances from artists such as Big Sean, Future, Miguel, Nas, John Legend, H.E.R. and more.

Aiko spent years building momentum toward Chilombo, so the six-year gap between that album and Westside Whimsy makes this new release particularly significant.

The new album will give fans an opportunity to hear how her sound and perspective have evolved since 2020.

It also arrives at a time when R&B continues to experience strong interest from longtime fans and a newer generation of listeners.

Jhené Aiko Continues Her West Coast Era

The title Westside Whimsy gives fans a major clue about the album’s overall identity.

Aiko has long incorporated elements of California culture into her music and visuals. Her laid-back vocal style also fits naturally with the West Coast atmosphere that appears to surround this project.

The collaborations reinforce that direction.

Kendrick Lamar and Ab-Soul are both deeply connected to Los Angeles hip-hop. Larry June represents another major voice from California. Tyga also brings his own West Coast background to the project.

Even the song titles appear to embrace that aesthetic.

“Beach Boy” and “Golden Coast” immediately evoke California imagery. “Neighbors” also sounds like a title that could fit into a story about community and everyday life.

Aiko has always mixed personal themes with dreamy production and introspective songwriting. Westside Whimsy appears positioned to continue that approach while adding more of the California influence surrounding her.

Fans Have Been Waiting Since 2020

The biggest storyline surrounding Westside Whimsy is simply how long fans have waited for it.

Aiko released Chilombo more than six years ago. Since then, fans have continued to revisit her previous albums while waiting for another full-length body of work.

That makes Friday’s release more than just another album drop.

It is the beginning of a new era for one of R&B’s most distinctive artists.

Aiko has developed a loyal audience because of the emotional honesty, atmospheric production and intimate songwriting that have become staples of her catalog. Her music has often explored relationships, heartbreak, healing, spirituality and personal growth.

The 20-song length of Westside Whimsy should give her plenty of space to explore those subjects again.

The guest appearances could also help the album appeal to listeners across both R&B and hip-hop.

‘Westside Whimsy’ Arrives September 11

With the full tracklist now revealed, there are only a few days left before Westside Whimsy officially arrives.

The album will contain 20 songs and feature Kendrick Lamar, Larry June, Ab-Soul, Tyga and OHMA.

For Aiko, it marks the beginning of her first new studio-album era since Chilombo debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in 2020.

She first teased the Westside Whimsy title in January. Now, after months of anticipation, fans are finally getting the project they have been waiting for.

And with Kendrick Lamar and Larry June among the featured artists, Aiko is giving fans plenty of reasons to be excited.

Westside Whimsy arrives Friday, September 11.
