Lizzo says she’s quitting making music after criticism of her online
On Friday, Lizzo had fans on social media buzzing due to her claiming that she no longer wants to be an artist. This stems from her voicing frustration on Instagram, about people criticizing her on the internet. Moreover, she believes that lies are spread about her for clout and views. Furthermore, Lizzo added that she’s been trying to help make the world a better place.
“I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet. All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.. I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout and views … being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look. My character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name. I didn’t sign up for this s*it.”
This Instagram post comes over a year after Lizzo was hit with various lawsuits. These were filed by former dancers of hers, as they accuse the artist of sexual harassment and false imprisonment.
In 2023, Lizzo released the remix to her smash hit single, “Special.” This remix went on to include a huge feature from SZA, as the two have been friends for over a decade now.
