Kawhi Leonard dunks on JaVale McGee and the bench loves it
Kawhi Leonard has a reputation for being one of the NBA’s best players. However, Kawhi has barely played since the 2017 Western Conference Finals. In addition, San Antonio Spurs fans accuse him of quitting on them and forcing his way out. Leonard played most of the 2019 season and led the Toronto Raptors to the title. However, that same year he signed with the Los Angeles Clippers. This year is his first healthy season since 2021. Last night, they played the Sacramento Kings and Kawhi put JaVale McGee on a poster.
Kawhi Leonard stunned the world, when he won the 2014 NBA Finals MVP. Leonard is credited for putting an end to the “Big 3” Miami Heat. As a result, he was viewed as the future of the San Antonio Spurs’ franchise. With Tim Duncan on his way out, Kawhi was the next franchise player. Following the 2016 playoffs, Duncan indeed retired from the NBA. The following season, Kawhi led them to a 61-21 record and the Conference Finals. If not for the injury, they would’ve likely gone to the NBA Finals.
Kawhi Leonard landed back in his hometown in 2019. Even though he was injured, Leonard helped to lead the Clippers to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 2021. However, they lost that series to the Phoenix Suns. Ever since, the Clippers have dealt with Leonard and Paul George being often out. Now, the Clippers have them both, plus Russell Westbrook and James Harden, but they’re still struggling. Last night, they got a win over the Kings and Kawhi’s dunk on JaVale McGee went viral.
