YNW Melly could walk out of court a free man today if judge declares a mistrial in his murder trial and state prosecutors will be unable to file new charges or reopen the case
YNW Melly could leave court a free man if mistrial is declared
YNW Melly was one of the leading new rappers in the game, also from Florida. That 2018-2019 period saw him breaking into the upper echelon of the game. As that was happening, Melly got wrapped up in accusations of murder. Soon, charges were filed against him. In addition, lyrics from his own songs were used against him. As a result, Melly has spent the past four years behind bars. However, all of that could change today. If the judge declares a mistrial, YNW Melly could walk out of court as a free man.
YNW Melly had a lot of momentum behind his music. Obviously, the past few years have seen his music career go on a hiatus. After all, he’s been behind bars, and he is still facing serious charges. In addition, he could get the death penalty if he is found guilty of these charges. Despite everything against him, Melly is normally all smiles in the courtroom. A few days ago, during one of his days in court, he was checking on his mother to see if she was alright.
YNW Melly has faced what most people have never and should never face. While he had to overcome his lifestyle to find success in music, hopefully Melly will make smarter decisions if he is released. Through all of this, many have maintained Melly’s innocence. However, there are recordings of him, plus his own music, that say otherwise. As previously stated, if the judge declares this case as a mistrial, Melly is free to go. In addition, the state can’t file new charges, nor can they reopen the case.
