SZA’s “SOS” becomes longest running number one album by a female artist on the Billboard 200 chart, since Adele’s “25”
SZA’s “SOS” sets Billboard 200 history with 10th total week at No. 1
Since December, SZA’s new sophomore album “SOS” has been dominating the charts. It initially debuted at number one in the US on the Billboard 200 chart, and also marked SZA’s first number one album.
SOS went on to spend its first seven weeks at number one in the US. After a brief end at seven, it is now back at a 10th total week at number one, after being back on top for the third straight week.
According to Chart Data, SOS sold an additional 87,000 units, over the past week. Since the album’s release, it’s sold 1,488,000 in total. In addition to being number one in the US for a 10th torso week, SOS also now becomes the longest running number one album by a female artist on the Billboard 200, since Adele’s “25” album, in 2015-16.
SOS contains 23 songs, as it’s led by hit singles such as “Good Days,” “I Hate U,” “Shirt” and “Kill Bill.” Kill Bill also stands number two in the US, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also recently reached 2x platinum eligibility.
Currently, SZA is also venturing on her SOS North American Tour. It kicked off this past week in Columbus, OH, as SZA also performed in Toronto, on Saturday night. She will hit the stage in Washington, D.C., tonight.
